Well, I still can't find the camera, so the photos aren't the best. I've been quite busy this week, though. First, I finally sewed the buttons on Charlotte's tunic sweater. I really love how it's turned out and can't wait for her to wear it.
I also finished Kieran's Twisted Tree sweater. I had to bind off the neck twice because I forgot to do a stretchy bind-off the first time. So I redid that part and tried it on Kieran to make sure it fit, and it's perfect. I'd altered it so that I used the width for the smaller size and the longer length, seeing as he's tall and slender. I think it worked out really well.
Last night I started working on a Guernsey sweater. Since we'll be traveling over Christmas, I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish it in time if I did it completely by hand, so I did the hem by hand and then put it on the old Brother knitting machine. It only gets one gauge, and can't do things other than stockinette, but it works for what I need for now.

Crafty Thursday
Back to crafting after Thanksgiving last Thursday. I'm keeping busy with my various projects. I couldn't find triangular black buttons for Charlotte's tunic sweater, but I think these round ones will work. Now to sew them on. I'll post photos as soon as I find the camera. I think Miss Pickle ran off with it.
I've also been working on Kieran's twisted tree sweater. I've now joined the sleeves to the body and am doing the raglan decreases.

There's nothing much to report on my sweater. Still plugging along on it. I keep forgetting to look up the pattern for the other sleeve for Charlotte's dress, and I haven't gotten around to starting Kieran's sweater yet.
I have, however, done a fair amount of sewing the past few days. I'd found a tutorial for turning an adult's button-down shirt into a toddler's dress, so I wanted to turn one of my old button-down shirts into a dress for Charlotte. Following that link, I also found a tutorial for making some bloomers from the sleeves, so I'm going to try that, too. I need to get some more thread, though. I think the dress turned out well. I had the white material already, as it had been given to me at the same time as the sewing machine. I'd just never found a use for it before now.
I also had an Oertel moment (those who went to uni with me will understand this reference). I'd noticed a pile of clothes that had been outside for at least a day, so I scavenged. I found a couple of button-down shirts in there, and one was suitable to turn into a dress for Charlotte. I'm going to try cutting the other one down for Kieran, as he's outgrowing some of his other button-down shirts. We'll see if it works. Here's the dress, though. It hadn't been hemmed yet in the photo.

Crafty Thursday
It's been quite a busy week for us. We've gone to the zoo, we've splashed in the paddling pool, we've played outside, we've walked down to the river, we've had dentist appointments, and we've ridden on trains and buses. All that is to say that I've not had time to do much in the way of knitting or sewing. I did finish two skirts, and I've continued working on my sweater.

Crafty Thursday
We've had some nice days this past week, which means I've not done quite as much in the craft department. I'm still working on my sweater, and I think I like the pattern for the skirt. I'll know more when I get a bit more of it done.
I've started turning another couple of pairs of trousers into skirts. I told you I had a bunch of trousers that didn't fit/look quite right hanging around.
Kieran and I have been working on Rosaries, too. It started because we were remaking my husband's Rosary. I'd made him one years ago, before we were married, but Kieran had accidentally broken it. So we got some beading wire and seed beads and remade it and made sure to get it blessed this time, too. He then wanted to make more, so we made one for my godson and fixed one of my 1-decade Rosaries. He's still wanting to make more, so we might look into making some for missionaries or the like.
